Mykonos or Myconos is an island of Greece and one of the top European tourism destinations. It belongs to theCyclades, a group of islands of the Aegean Sea. It spans an area of 86 km² and rises at an elevation of 364 m at its highest point. It has little natural fresh water There are approximately 6200 inhabitants. The largest town is Mykonos, also known as Hora, on the west coast. It is believed that the island was named after a local hero, who is considered an offspring of god Apollo and was worship locally. |
